ABOUT
Since I was a little girl, I’ve been bouncing back and forth between singing, playing violin, and acting. When I was seven years old, my mother put me and two of my sisters together to form The Leslie’s Three. We trained, competed and won, and went on to perform professionally for several years until one of us went off to college.
As an adult, I often do the same: in one moment I am accompanying and supporting someone on stage, and in the next moment I am the one in the spotlight, whether it be acting in a scene, singing a solo, or playing my violin.
I began formal training when I was 5 years old. I began with violin, and went on to study piano, voice, and drama several years later. All of this focused study has made me an acute listener, a focused artist, and a multi-faceted performer.
As an actor and singer, I’ve performed with the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Court Theatre, Goodman Theatre, and the Chicago Children’s Theatre. I have also toured nationally (Scrooge, The Musical, Barrie’s Peter Pan), and worked with many regional theatres, including the Peninsula Players, The Old Creamery, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. I have soloed as a vocalist in Chicago and abroad, most prominently with the Bill Porter Orchestra.
My violin is never far from me, and I regularly play with various professional orchestras and jobbing bands, whether it be a Beethoven Symphony, improvising on Fly Me To The Moon, or rocking out on my electric to Purple Haze. I’ve performed with The Moody Blues, Smokey Robinson, Bobby Vinton, and Wayne Newton.
Aside from these creative and artistic pursuits, I am a bit of a thrill-seeker. I am a certified SCUBA diver, amateur pilot, and regularly take turns on the flying trapeze. I love to travel, and have visited a dozen countries, with many more on my short list. There is always more to learn, and I find that as I grow in experience, I am humbled by others’ knowledge and what the world has to offer. Feel free to contact me; I love to connect and welcome your questions.
